Judy Green began weaving baskets twenty five years ago and quickly became a basketry instructor using reeds, seagrass, and other available basketry materials. Over the years her weaving has evolved from traditional, functional basketry to contemporary, architectural pieces. She is currently creating large nature screens and columns using red osier dogwood sticks twined with copper wire and leather strips. The screens are a tapestry background for birds, fish, and reptiles that she creates out of dyed leather with glass eyes.
