My love for basketry connects and intersects with my found things from the coast. Driftwood becomes handles for my baskets. Clam shells become rattles as used in earlier times. Sweet grass (Scirpus americanus), harvested from the bogs at Tillamook Bay, weaves into red cedar baskets.
I have been making baskets since 2000. I have been teaching basketry since 2004. I am an active member of the Columbia Basin Basketry Guild. I have shown and sold baskets at the coast and at the Convention Center in Portland (Handweaver's/Potter's Sale). I continue to learn and try new materials and methods. I am passionate about my basket making.
