Annie Niedergang is a Portland architect and a self-taught basket maker. Her backpack style pack baskets were originally designed out of necessity: as an avid mushroom hunter, she realized she wanted her hands free so she could use walking sticks while moving through the forest.

You can find more examples of her work on Instagram @mossylog.baskets and on her website: https://www.an-architectpdx.com/
