Weaving Heaven, every September

Over five days in September, the Guild's Tidal Twinings Retreat offers weaving, materials gathering, and other basketry activities in community with other weavers.

2026 Tidal Twinings Registration Brochure is here.

Lodging, meals, and class sessions are held at Camp Magruder in Rockaway Beach on the beautiful Oregon Coast.

In addition to a full slate of classes, retreat activities include an attendee gallery show, auctions, raffles, and a keynote presentation by the year's featured teacher.

Registrants can attend for one to five days.  The retreat is flexible and welcoming to weavers of all skill levels.

The 2026 Tidal Twinings Retreat will be held September 16-20, 2026. Registration opens May 8 via USPS. Your registration must be postmarked* on or after Friday, May 8, 2026. Registrations are processed according to postmarked* order.

IMPORTANT: * The USPS has changed when postmarks are affixed to mail. Mail is now stamped at regional processing centers, often delaying the postmark date – sometimes by days, especially close to weekends.

Our 2026 featured teacher is Wisconsinite Pam Hermann, who is offering classes in cedar, leather, waxed linen, and pine needles. Carol Horvath and the Goodwin brothers are offering willow classes. Weave cedar with Brenda Brainard. Deb Curtis and Judy Zugish will be using barks for their classes. Sheila Wray and Elaine Twogood have two classes, reed and waxed linen; and Melanie Perkins has a Craftbands tote project. Lei McCornack brings her island vibe with shells and lauhala, and Margaret Mathewson will teach reed as well as a “how to” starts and rims class. In all, 29 classes will be offered.

Camp Magruder has renovated another set of buildings, increasing our lodging and classroom options. They also have a new chef who brings strong experience as a chef/manager in corporate food service and at notable restaurants.

Contact the Guild's Retreat Committee if you have any questions.
