OFF-SITE CLASS: Gourds 101 with Jane Wilson

Location: King City, OR, at instructor Jane’s garage & driveway tent (address will be provided to registrants, closer to the event)
Cost: $20 (for Basket Day, CBBG subsidizes the class fee, and students pay just the materials fee)

Tools students should bring to class:Cordless drill (if you have one), dust mask, pencil, tape measure, awl, wet ones, clips, apron. Bring a chair. Tables will be provided.
Description: This class will teach you how to prepare a hard-shell gourd straight from the garden to ready to weave. We will cover cleaning inside and outside, leveling, gourd design, cutting, and a simple finish with latched philodendron sheath rim. Repairs of cracks and holes will be covered. Tools for leveling, cleaning, cutting, sanding, and finishing will be provided. Material fees will include one gourd, one philodendron sheath, choice of natural material for embellishment and step by step printed instructions.
