Description:Invasive plants are such amazing weavers! In this class we will begin by stripping the leaves off of the English ivy. We will talk about where, when, and how to process ivy. We’ll be using the slath technique, which is used in willow basketry, to start our base then begin twining around it. We will use a mixture of twining and triple twining to weave the remainder of the basket, finishing with a rim of your choice. These baskets will be a variety of sizes and shapes; you can go quite large with ivy or keep it small. We will also cover how to shape the basket so that you get the size and shape you desire.
