$138.00

Date and time: Wednesday, March 25, 2026. 8:30am - 5:30pm PST

Location: Online via Zoom; registrants will be sent a link via email prior to the class.

Cost: $138 ($64 class fee and $74 materials fee), includes shipping.

Number of students: 15

Instructor: Mary Price

Student skill level: Intermediate

Tools needed for class: Water spray bottle to dampen reed; sharp weavers’ scissors; pencil; straight tip Weave Rite tool (or flat tip screw driver); small clips such as alligator or quilters clips to secure the first couple rows of weaving to the spokes. Larger clips to secure rim pieces to the basket - clothespins work great! We strongly encourage you to have a second (smartphone) camera over your workspace for demonstration, questions, and problem solving. This greatly aids the instructor, as well as helping you.

Description: This lidded Pagoda basket features a 5 woven Cathead base. The basket and lid are accented with grey reed, flat silver wire, and two silver hoops serving as handles. The sides are woven in traditional start stop rows with a special emphasis on shaping to achieve the unique Cathead shape. After finishing with a traditional lashed rim, a round reed woven ledge is added. The lid is woven using Triple Twine and 4 Rod Wale to suit the size of your basket. Your finished piece will be 7H x 7W x 7D.

You can use the DIY camera stand linked here.
