You will learn traditional wicker techniques and patterns as well as the freedom to explore your personal style and creativity. This class is for intermediate weavers who enjoy weaving with smaller sticks. Small willow sticks do not take as much hand strength.
Students must be familiar with basic weaving skills, having woven a willow basket previously will be helpful. Focus on shaping and learning how to braid the edge of a lid.
If you have volunteered at the Guild’s willow plot and have earned willow bucks, you can use those towards the materials portion of the fee and get reimbursed following the class. Bring your willow bucks tally to class.
