Willow Sculpting Workshop: Canadian Goose
Date and time: Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15, 2026. 9:30am – 5:00pm PST each day
Location: Willowbee Farm, Salem OR
Cost: $140 (includes $90 guild fee; $50 materials fees). If you have volunteered at the Guild’s willow plot and have earned willow bucks, you can use those towards the materials portion of the fee and get reimbursed following the class. Bring your willow bucks tally to class.

Supplies Needed: Sharp pair of pruners, fixed blade knife, rolling/winding tool (instructor has some available).
Description: Class will begin with a Power Point program overview of willow sculpting and Carol’s approach, which is a melding of skills learned from a variety of teachers and projects. A Canadian goose model will be used to help you better visualize the lines you’ll then be recreating with recently harvested Our Table green willow. You’ll return home with your very own willow Canadian goose!
About your instructor: Carol Horvath is a long-time CBBG member, who has been weaving with willow for about 20 years. In 2018 she studied with Eddie Glew and Mel Bastier to learn willow sculpting techniques and has since sculpted a variety of animals, human figures and sculptural structures. She greatly enjoys growing willow, weaving practical an innovative objects and teaching.
