Basket Day in the Park
Cedar Bark Preparation with Susan Hanks (no registration needed)
Bring your own cedar and learn to prepare it for weaving. A note on soaking your cedar bark prior to Basket Day: for a small roll soak overnight, a giant roll make take a few days.
Tools for Cedar Bark Preparation: soaking bucket, large scissors, sharp knife, jerry stripper (if you have one), string, brown paper bags, apron, towel, splitting block (if you have one).
Gourd Class: Weave a Dream Catcher on a Gourd with Jane Wilson
You will be provided with a cleaned gourd and learn how to prepare the gourd, a painting technique (if desired), weave a dream catcher on the side of the gourd, and finish with a pine needle rim.
Tools: apron, scissors, pencil, tape measure, heat tool, drill, miniature jigsaw (if you have them, if not you can use the teachers)
