Location: Our Table Cooperative Farm store patio (13390 SW Morgan Rd Sherwood, OR). Please leave the parking spaces closest to the store for the use of store customers.

Fee: $30 class fee and $0 material fee

Number of Students: 15

Description: Carol Horvath will teach us to make 16 or so round willow orbs in three sizes (55, 65 & 75 cm diameters) to decorate Our Table’s patio during the Christmas holiday season. All skill levels are welcome.

On the first Sunday willow rods will be randomly woven over inflatable exercise/stability balls. This initial weaving will then be allowed to dry for two weeks. On the second Sunday the balls will be deflated and removed from within the woven willows, followed by supplemental weaving to create pleasing orb shapes.

Our Table employees will later cover the orbs with mini lights. Please note: All orbs made during class will be donated to Our Table. However, following class, the exercise balls used as orb forms will be sold for the reduced rate of $15/each and Guild willow will also be sold so that you can make an orb for yourself after class.

Bring:  Please bring sharp pruners and scissors. You may bring a lunch or buy food at the Our Table store.

Registration: Registration is open to Columbia Basin Basketry Guild (CBBG) members and will be done online - click “add to cart” below. The last date to register is July 9. No refunds will be given after July 9.

About Our Table Cooperative and CBBG:

Our Table Cooperative hosts CBBG’s willow plot (for more information about our willow plot, click here). Our Table provides space for CBBG to not only grow and store willow, but also to conduct outdoor classes. Making these orbs is a small way to say “thank you” to the cooperative for their support and generosity.
