On the fourth day of our March Zoom-In 2026 event, we will be offering the choice of two classes: Woven Fishtail Earrings & Pendant, and Small Sally-type Bag (this is a 2-day class). Please note, you may only take one of these two classes; the timeline of them overlaps. Zoom-In classes are open to both Guild members and non-members. Tools needed for class: Small sharp scissors, small packing tool, a tapestry needle. We strongly encourage you to have a second (smartphone) camera over your workspace for demonstration, questions, and problem solving. This greatly aids the instructor, as well as helping you. Description: For this small Sally-type bag, student must know plain twining. Class will teach full turn twining using polished hemp and acrylic yarn. Full turn allows for changing colors and developing patterns. This is a technique class and project may not be finished in class but full instructions will be provided so that you can finish on your own. You will learn a “fast” start for the base and how to follow a graph pattern. Your finished piece will be 3.5′′H x 2.5′′W x 2.5′′D.

Description: Do you love woven jewelry? Do you love wearable art? This class is for you. We will be working with willow bark or cane, depending on your aesthetic preference, over a copper wire form to create these beautiful woven earrings and matching pendant. You will learn a figure 8 with a twist pattern to weave them. The earring forms will come ready to weave; you will get to shape your own pendant form so that you have a chance to learn how to work with the metal as well. The class includes earring hooks and chain or a pin for your pendent. You will be able to choose bark or cane, and silver or bronze chain or a pin for your piece. You will also select the length size for your earrings (1-3 inches). Your finished piece will be 1.5′′H x 1′′W x .25′′D.
