4th Monday Mini-class in February: Chain-Weave Lattice Basket

Cost: $26 (includes: $6 class fee and $20 materials fee/shipping)

Instructor: Cathryn Peters

Student skill level: All levels.

Instructor will provide written instructions and all weaving materials necessary for the class: prepared and cut toilet paper roll weavers and written pattern.

Skills and Tools needed for class: Good hand-eye coordination and good hand dexterity. Packing tool or flathead screwdriver.

Description: Turn the most ordinary household cardboard into an eye-catching little basket (3′′W x 4 1/2′′D)! In this playful mini-class, you’ll learn how to transform plain toilet paper tubes into flexible “links” and chain them together to build a surprisingly sturdy Chain-Weave Lattice Basket.

About Your Instructor

Cathryn Peters has been on a mission to share the nearly lost arts of chair caning and wicker repair as well as promoting the crafts of basketry and fiber arts for over 50 years. She has taught across the country at folk schools, woodworking schools, upholstery shops, basket guilds and conventions and within the last several years, online instruction, too. Her antler basket sculptures have appeared in several books and publications, online juried exhibits, and juried group and solo art gallery exhibitions where they've garnered several first place monetary awards.
