July General Meeting: Native Oregon History with Brenda Brainard

  • Multnomah Arts Center Auditorium 7688 Southwest Capitol Highway Portland, OR, 97219 United States (map)

About the program

Oregon has a rich and sad Indian History that is seldom told in the classroom or the community. This will be an overview of OR Indian History, including pre-contact lifestyles, European impact, termination and restoration, with a focus on Western Oregon.

Brenda Brainard is Miluk Coos and an enrollment member of the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians. In addition to being a traditional basket weaver, she is also a storyteller.

The meeting will open at 6:30 p.m. with library and social time.  Don't forget to check out the orphan table and material sales.
