4th Monday in July Mini-class: Small Plaited Cedar Choctaw Pouch

Tools & supplies to be provided by student: small towel, soaking tub, spray bottle, scissors, small packing tool or small flat screwdriver, small sharp knife, needle (that fits #4 waxed linen) if you have one, tape measure, tweezer or small needle nose plier, tucking tool

Description: In this class you will learn to weave a small simple plaited pouch. Pouches like this are made by the Choctaw using river cane and include color and pattern. We will use 1/4" cedar bark strips and 1/4" - 1/2 " willow bark strips, The technique will include plain plaiting, diagonal plaiting, and a fold down border.
