Description: Learn to make twisted cordage and get advice about other types of materials you can make/sculpt from kombucha scoby pellicle. Materials exploration workshop with a chance to dry s.c.o.b.y. biocellulose at home for cordage completion. Very much looking forward to sharing the joys of making your own cordage from accumulated fizzy beverage production byproduct! 

Skills Required: Those with sensitivity to vinegar or kombucha evaporative scents/odors, or with intolerance towards slippery/slimy/gelatinous materials should note that this material looks slippery and smells like vinegar.

Supplies Provided: You will be provided a learning amount of pre-drained kombucha scoby pellicle, which we will process together in class after a Powerpoint presentation and question-and-answer session.

Supplies Needed: Please wear some clothes you don't mind getting a splash or two on. We will be winding up fresh bacterial cellulose and hanging it to dry. Bacterial cellulose is mildly acidic and this strain is brewed with tea, which while mostly dissolved into the fermentation process, can still leave a stain.
