Round Bottomed Asymmetric Basket with Rod Border ~ Project 2
Description: You’ll begin by making a round Catalan or slath base and secure it with 4-rod waling. You’ll shape the rounded bottom with French randing then utilize a variety of techniques (zig zag, Irish weave, or more randing) as you progress upward in an asymmetric sloped border fashion. Then you’ll create a 4-5 rod sloped border on two sides and finish with a driftwood or other wood handle. Bring your own special handle piece or use one of Carol’s. Materials include driftwood and willow.
