Come demonstrate basketry skills at Multnomah Arts Center on Friday, October 16, 2026, 4pm-9pm, as part of MAC’s Arts for All Community Open House, in support of ADX Fest.
We’ll be demonstrating a fun and simple cordage bracelet for visitors to try. Bring any basket and/or cordage project to work on and share your skills and enthusiasm with the community. Feel free to bring any basketry project to work on as well.
No past demonstration experience necessary. Sign up for all or only part of the time. Email Kathy MacPherson at ColumbiaBasinBasketryGuild@gmail.com to participate, or with any questions. More information about the event:
The Multnomah Arts Center is partnering with Art Design Exchange (ADX) in support of their ADX Fest celebrations this October. ADX Fest (https://www.adxfest.com/events) is a regionwide art and design festival celebrating Portland’s creative independents.
In collaboration with this mission, MAC will host an Arts for All Community Open House on October 16th from 4pm-9pm, highlighting the arts associations, guilds, and partner organizations that are connected to MAC, celebrating the collective communities and the incredible work we do. This event will offer the community deeper insight and connection into the creative makerspace we call MAC and spotlight the talents and skills of our local guilds. Each participating guild will have a booth set up in the auditorium to offer a simple, hands-on activity for the community to try.
